Three Things About Me

http://quont-mernac.blogspot.com/2007/11/question-of-week-17.html

Vickielysia is otherwise occupied with Wolf, no doubt sleeping off a hangover, so I shall tell you three things about myself.

1. I have an obsession with flashlights and must have one with me wherever I go. There is one in each room of my house, one in my car, one in my file cabinet at work, and a little bitty Maglite that is always in my pocket. I think this stems from being in the bathroom at a mall when I was five or six, the power went out and there was no emergency lighting -- I was one scared little kid! I WANT MY MOMMY!!!

2. I love to do pencil drawings despite the fact that I complete suck at it. I have an artist pad and a cup with several pencils, and whenever I have a spare moment and feel the urge I try to sketch something. The only identifiable drawing I have done is of an empty martini glass.

3. I enjoy writing fanfics and have two posted at fanfiction.net -- in two different genres and under two different pen names. I'll give a cookie to anyone who can identify one of the stories I've written LOL.

Toy for Quont

Yeah, I know this is a week late, but here a couple of the images of the new "toy". I would have waited for the next chat but I doubt I'll be around for that (I will try though) but I am curious as to what you think it is and how you think it works ;-)

Simple Pleasures

In response to Quont's Question of the Week 11:

My answer is to simply be. Incredibly simple, I know, but it is such a wonderful pleasure to be still and let the world go on around you for a short while. Sit at the desk and "zone out" for a few minutes, or find a spot in the backyard, sit on the ground and just be still. Okay, so sometimes it isn't so easy, but when it does come easily it's a great feeling.

Some other simple pleasures would be singing along with the radio in the car, curling up with a good book on a rainy night, and and enjoying a glass of fine wine with a friend.

A Quick Update

Just in case any of you thought I had dropped off the face of the Earth, you'll be happy (or not) to know that I am still among the living. I'll try to get over to Mernac later tonight or tomorrow.

The Invaders of Mernac?

Yes, something has happened to the lands of Mernac. I'm not sure exactly what, though. All I know is that I have been trapped on the Ethereal Fire plane for the last few days, and then Elsen got word to all of us Disciples that whatever is going on, it prevents all of us from entering Mernac (good thing Elsen can communicate with his Disciples via their Element!).

Who would want to invade Mernac and keep us all out?

I have heard that Quont is spreading news of warriors and magicians working tirelessly to restore order to our world, and I hope that they are successful.

Since I am bored here in the Ethereal Fire plane, I baked a big plate of cookies and then I decided to make a new "cookies" banner (you know, the "come to the darkside, we have cookies!" banner I use when I visit Mernac). I think it lacks the emotion of the original banner, so I may scrap this one and continue with my original...what do you think?

Weekly Progress Report

Well it's been quite a week at Mernac! Seems there is a lot of discussion going on about the future of our world, where we are headed and how best to get there.

As for me, I reviewed the following stories and added missing connections when necessary:

Majikku Island
Huda Strone, Choicemaker
Kayri Braetooth
Port of Despair
Weeping Stones
Cats of Mendak
Black Anguish Lake
Manta Trees
Faithmore City
Garuff
Koomba Treats
The People Of The Fog
The Scepter of Sonnets
Ol' One Foot
Port Mystic
Shadowmane, Bane Of The Light

Wow, that's a lot of reading! I need to take a nap now...later!

Who would you dine with?

Quont, Mernac's God of Lust: Question of the Week – 9

Vickielysia's answer - Why my sister Anemo of course! It's not like I have a lot of choice, it has to be someone immune to my fiery self as I don't want to scorch my dinner companion, and oh the fun time we could have. Anemo can hear sounds that travel on the wind so she would be able to fill me in on all the latest gossip!

My answer - It depends on what day of the week it is and what mood I'm in ;-) I can see a peaceful dinner with Terees being quite enjoyable, discussing all of that knowledge that she possesses. Then again, dinner with Canu would be splendid as well -- I do so adore good music and would love to discuss it with him although I haven't attempted to play any instrument in years. Some evenings I think it would be heaven to dine with Quont, although I'd probably swoon like a school girl.

Trying something new

No, not anymore of my doodles...although you have to admit my Crystal Faery was pretty funny. I've decided to try a more anime style of rendering and I really like it...unfortunately it doesn't fit in so well with Mernac but still, it's fun.

My Doodle

Update to the weekly report

I got three stories reviewed for missing connections, and of course two of the three already had all of the connections made, yay!

Drug out the character story that I had been working on telling about Vickielysia's early life growing up with the Dark Elves...stashed it in favor of working on an erotic Tarot deck. (It's all Traesha's fault, she came up with the topic but I don't want to post my images in the challenge thread because there's no way to rate a post so that it only shows the image if you click on the "18 and older" icon. I may email them to Quont just because...if you can't share erotic Tarot cards with the God of Lust, who can you share them with?

Weekly Report

First, let me just say that sunny California has been HOT this week. Not as hot as Arizona where Traesha is, but still...enough with the sunshine already! I want rain! (Now you know it's bad when the Disciple of Ethereal Fire wants rain!!!) I'd ask my dear sis Anemo to provide a breeze but blowing the hot air around isn't going to help much.

I've tried to at least keep adding the new stories and saplings to my list of stories that I need to review for missing connections, but all this heat has given me such migraines that I can barely read them, let alone add the missing connections. And of course the list of stories to be reviewed just keeps on growing...now don't get me wrong, that's not a complaint! More stories is a great thing for Mernac...I just wish Disciples could have Disciples. Hmm, maybe I should offer to pay silver to anyone else that reads the stories and posts to the Missing Connections forums so all I have to do is edit the story and add them.

I was going to go to the state fair today with my (as Traesha calls him) new hunk, but it's too hot even for that. Then we thought about going for a drive to San Francisco, but the Bay Bridge is closed for the entire Labor Day weekend for repairs (brilliant idea there, CalTrans...you started telling us several months ago that the bridge would be closed, why didn't you decide several months ago to just do the work on ANOTHER WEEKEND??? Sorry, just have a bit of a rant there...I told you it was hot here!)

We settled on going out to dinner tonight after the sun goes down and it hopefully cools off, and where things go from there...?

Defeating a Creative Block

Quont, Mernac's God of Lust: Question of the Week – 7

Whenever I feel blocked, I go sit in my garden at night and stare up at the sky. There's just something about seeing all of those stars, the moon, the planets, making out the constellations -- it just gets my imagination going. Then I can fantasize that I'm really on an adventure, maybe making camp for the night before continuing on my journey to find something or someone. Out there alone, with just nature to keep me company, my imagination seems to run wild.

Until the first strange noise which I tend to believe is a serial killer coming to get me but always ends up being the cat coming to check and see what the heck I'm doing out there.

If the weather is bad and I can't go outside, I add a bit of lemongrass oil to the bathwater and soak for a while, then dig through a box of old photos that belonged to my grandmother (we're talking photos going back to the 1900's) and try to imagine what life was like and what was going on when the picture was taken. (Hmm, maybe the big box of old pictures is where I got my love for photography.)

New Disciples!

Wow, the family is really growing! We have three new additions to the rank of Disciple: Wolf, who will be a fellow Disciple of Elsen, and Naysia and Shanyaks, who join the Shadow Guard as Disciples of Terees.

Please stop by to say hello and congratulate them!

Response to Quont's Question

Quont, Mernac's God of Lust: Question of the Week – 6

Vickielysia's answer:

I visit Mernac during the cold winters when the people welcome fire for its warmth instead of calling on Elsen to send me back to the Ethereal Fire Plane. There's just something so soothing about the sound of rushing water as my flames melt the ice.

My answer:

*blinks* Relax? Huh? Who has time to relax? I have stuff to do and things to see and fried foods on a stick to eat!!!!

Ohhh, you meant in general...sorry. People seem to assume that vacation is for relaxing...HA! I usually feel like I need a vacation from my vacation by the time it's over with.

So how do I relax? I like to start with a nice Margarita
Then I put the ocean waves CD on, lie down on the couch and lose myself in whatever fantasy comes to mind (usually it involves being in a tropical location with no phones, no faxes and no internet connections, but a nice group of cabana boys to cater to my every whim).

Video from the Fair

A Day At The Fair (Pt. 2 of the pics)

Poor Poppy the Bear has been reassigned to guarding the bathrooms.

Now we move on to The Farm.

Rice!

Corn!

Milo? What the heck is Milo besides one of the characters in Milo and Otis?

Kiwi! California is the only place in the United States where Kiwifruit are grown (in case you care).

(You don't really need me to label this "Sunflower", do you?)

I just thought this picture turned out kind of cool for a night-time pic.

The water tower.

That's all the pictures for now, but I'm going back out Friday so I should have more then! And I'll try to get some of the video uploaded to YouTube over the next couple of days.

I'm Back! (for the moment, anyway)

Yes, I've returned briefly to share some pics with you all. Today I went to the State Fair -- wahoo! Where else can you get your Coca-Cola fried and drink your watermelon?

I must admit that the pictures turned out rather craptacular, especially since I got a pit in my lens that causes a red dot to appear in certain photos (I cloned it out of most of the pics already, but there are a few that I didn't). Boo!

On the other hand, I got some incredible video! The Budweiser Clydesdales performed -- it's something that you just have to experience, those horses are so powerful and so HUGE but the way they work together is beautiful.

But enough of that, here is what you've been waiting for :-)

This is the "World Famous California State Fair Fountain". I'm not sure what qualifies it to be "World Famous", but the health department tested the water and decided that after 40 years it qualifies as a threat to public health. Therefore the fence is around it to keep everyone out of the water. Since 1967 kids have played in that fountain; I remember playing in it, so this makes me very sad. Hopefully the fair will raise the $500,000 that they need to replace the pumping system so we can all play in the fountain again.

All around the fountain are banners, one for each of California's 58 counties.

The American River flows through Cal Expo.

Forget bumper cars, we have bumper boats!

There are rainforests in California?

I'm going to divide this into two posts so it doesn't take forever to load with all of these pictures ;-)

Pictures From Years Past

I'm trying to organize my photo folders in anticipation of taking lots and lots of pictures *big grin* and I thought these might provide some inspiration for Mernacian flora. It was part of a floriculture display at the California State Fair in 2003.

(I don't know when acrylic started to be considered 'floriculture' either...*shrugs*...but it looks very Mernacian, no?)

Off on vacation!

Well I'm not actually off to anywhere, just taking a break from everything and focusing one whole week on my photography (minus one day to visit the JellyBelly Factory -- mmm, Jelly Bellys).

I'm looking forward to having this time with no splitting my time between work, Mernac, and other projects. Just me, my camera and the open road (now before you go getting some romantic image of me zooming down the freeway with the top down, I should tell you that I drive a minivan. Maybe not as sexy, but all of my photography stuff fits in it and if need be, I can stow all of the seats and sleep quite comfortably in it.) and the only limitation is how much gas I can afford LOL.

Take care, and I'll see you all in a week if I don't post pics sooner!

Another Week Almost Over

Wow, where does the time go? I swear I hardly get to set any fires these days. Good thing I have my sis Anemo to help me spread those flames!

Elsen has been incognito for a bit...turns out he and Werk have had a bit of a falling out and Werk cast one of his illnesses on our poor Father Elsen!

Traesha, Quont's lusty Disciple, has her own blog now -- check it out if you dare! Just be careful...she isn't called the Great Man-Eater for nothing!

I shall be on vacation next week, which means the inhabitants of Mernac don't have to worry about me inflicting any fires on their lands. Not that it means they can all breath easy -- Anemo will still be blowing through from time to time, and Traesha and Frost will be busy seducing their victims and Quont will be tackling the questions of the lusty Mernacians. Not sure when Canu will be back. I miss Canu. His sweet songs are one of the few things that eases my soul when I become agitated.

I should be heading back to my little niche in the Ethereal Fire Plane now...behave yourselves and play nicely, and I'll leave cookies at a few of the Temples of Elsen so you can occupy yourselves with finding them.

My Favorite Sounds

My answers to Quont's question:

Vickielysia's favorite sound would be the crackling of a fire and the howl of the wind to fan the flames.

My favorite sounds would be a baby laughing, glass wind chimes and rain on the roof.

Weekly Progress Report - August 13, 2007

Well, here it is, another week come and gone and have I done all that I wanted to? Of course not.

In regards to missing connections, the following stories were reviewed and connections added where necessary:

The Crone's House
Ancient Seelos

Yep, that's it. Two whole stories. Yay me!

So what have I done this week? Well...

I had a lovely time visiting with my sister, Anemo. She chose me to be her Featured Artist -- I am so honored!

Ah, but that did not take up the entire week, no. Thanks to Quont and the questions posted on His blog, I have been devoting more time to my photography. My latest challenge is selective coloring -- something which I have long admired but never been brave enough to try until now. Here is the result.

The method of doing it is pretty easy, but the actual doing it, pixel by pixel around the edges, is very time consuming and not easy on the eyeballs. Still, I think the end result was worth it.

Now, though, I'm beginning to worry that perhaps I don't belong at Mernac. My goals and dreams have little to do with being an artist or a writer...well maybe when they organize the first Mernacian convention I can take publicity photos.

My Dream Job

In response to Quont's Question of the Week:

Well this is an easy one! My dream job would be to work for National Geographic and travel the world photographing all of the wonders, the cultures and sights to share them with the rest of the world!

Any job where I was photographing things would be a dream job for me. Yes, I do mean anything. I once had a job offer to photograph railroad accidents for investigations, and I thought that would be the coolest job in the world (I'm not squeamish in the least so the sight of blood, guts and body parts doesn't make me lose my lunch so long as none of the parts were originally mine).

Wow, that was short and sweet, wasn't it?

A short post on a rather scary thought

When I need a laugh, I go to the bug report forum at Mernac because that's where all the funny posts are.

Bottled Djinn, Gorilla Sucubbi and a new snack product are just a small sample of what awaits in this thread (not to mention a certain Disciple's grandchildren wanting to visit the darkside for cookies). What, you ask, do these things have to do with reporting problems with the website? Nothing, but at least it's guaranteed to bring a smile to your face by the time you're done reading through the thread.

My Goal In Life - in response to Quont's Question of the week

Father Quont has posted a most excellent question to blog on this week - "tell us about one of your goals in life". This one I can do, :-)

I'm sure some of you are going to be surprised to hear that one of my goals in life is not to be a writer. Nor is it to be an artist.

I want to get my photos published by an actual publisher, in a book or a magazine or even just a brochure. So that is the one goal that I am trying to pursue, although not as actively as I should.

I take my camera almost everywhere I go, even to work (which has led to some paranoid co-workers LOL). You just never know when you'll be struck with the realization that this place, at this very moment, is perfect, and you'll never get this moment over again so you better grab the camera and record it for posterity!

I put my dream on hold, I suppose, so that I could hang onto what is becoming a rarity, a full-time job with full benefits. Perhaps it's time to rethink that and put other things on hold so that I can pursue the photography more.

And that, my friends, is one of my goals in life. Not the only one, but the one that I am still holding onto with all my heart. I hope you enjoy the pictures, and maybe I'll post more later.

Incubus Frost to get new powers, and a change in vacation plans

First, our dear Incubus Frost is going to be getting some new powers -- isn't that wonderful? Hmm, wonder what those powers will be?

He also says that he'll be getting a wee little kink, although I thought his existing kinkiness was just right ;-) Oh well, I guess you can't have too much of a good thing.

As for the vacation plans, I'm not sure how Frost and Canu feel about Anemo's plans that we chase them around Mernac, so I think I'll just vacation by myself in the Tian Islands. If anyone needs me, that's where I'll be.

A Mernacian Vacation

Heehee, I made a rhyme.

Where would I go on Mernac for a vacation...well I'd like to visit the Crystal Palace since Quont has so generously offered to conjure up a body for me so that I might enjoy the sensual pleasures offered there.

My second choice would be to visit the Tian Islands. I hear they have quite the bazaar there, and that one can find just about anything among the merchandise. Of course there are the lovely Crystal Faeries that inhabit the islands as well.

The Flames of Passion Part III

This series is rated "R" so if you are under 18 or offended by things of an adult or sexual nature, please don't read.

After my dear little Elf became an Ethereal Master, and I one as well, we went our separate ways. I took other lovers, mostly Vistaduro Ethereal Masters like myself, but after I become a Disciple...well, it's kind of hard to have a lover when you don't even have a body (not that it stopped me, but the tale of my former teacher and I after my Discipleship is a long story, and one that I shall try to write later).

After the death of Milnov Feylin, my teacher, I wreaked havoc on Mernac and then, when my mood calmed, I retreated to the Ethereal Fire Plane except for those times when Father Elsen required me to perform some errand. One day, though, I felt like wandering and so I went to visit Mernac. I can only perceive my Ethereal element on Mernac, but I can communicate with Elsen's other Disciples. Although I love my sister, Anemo, dearly, on this day I wanted to visit with Goran. He and I have worked together to ensure that the flora of Mernac florises again in those areas that bore the brunt of my foul moods.

Instead of finding Goran, as I wandered Mernac I found a Vistaduro Ethereal Master nearly dead from Elemental exhaustion, but still conscious as he lay in a cave. He knew who I was, but then I imagine all Ethereal Masters recognize when the Disciple that controls their particular Element is close by. It also was no surprise that he was a little frightened by my presence -- what can I say, when one periodically tortures Ethereal Masters word spreads. I tried to communicate to him through Ethereal Fire that I meant him no harm and only wanted to help, but I don't think he quite believed me.

I fed Ethereal Fire to him slowly, not to prolong his suffering but because being force-fed the Elements isn't any more pleasant than if I forced Koomba Treats down your throat as fast as I could. Eventually he began communicating with me via the Element that we shared, and he believed that I did not intend to torture him...at least not on that day.

The Flames of Passion - Part II

This series is rated "R" so if you are under 18 or offended by things of an adult or sexual nature, please don't read.

You'll remember that I mentioned an Elemental Elf who was, for lack of a better term, a "friend with benefits". Now I'm not using that term lightly, for he and I were very close friends. I won't give his name because he went on to be a very well-respected Dimatton Ethereal Master and I wouldn't want tongues wagging that he once fell under the power of Eros.

Yes, I do miss those days. We had foreplay down to an art, he and I, and even when the Curse of Fae's Eyes had waned and gone, he was a most attentive lover. Even now I can remember the feel of his hands on my breasts, his breath on my neck, gentle nips and licks that caused the most wonderful feelings to course through my body. I can only hope that I brought him the same pleasure, for I did so enjoy the feel of his flesh as I explored his body with the same care that he used exploring mine.

It's times like this that I miss having a corporeal body...

(I just found out about a new Mernacian 'pet' called a crothhound...I hope Father Elsen will let me have one! Can I pleeeease have a puppy? Pleeeeeease??? I promise I'll take good care of it and clean up after it. It can live on any Ethereal Plane, right? Oh please, please say that it can live in the Ethereal Fire Plane with me, I want a puppy! Unless there are crothkittens, in which case I want one of those instead.)

The Flames of Passion - Part I

This series is rated "R" so if you are under 18 or offended by things of an adult or sexual nature, please don't read.

Inspired by Quont's challenge, I decided to start writing this and see where it goes...I'm just writing it for my own amusement (and hopefully the amusement of you, the readers) but it isn't intended to be submitted as a Legend of Mernac.

I was mortal once, just like all of the Disciples that serve the Mothers and the Fathers. I guess that is the one commonality that we all share. Before I became Elsen's Disciple, I was an Elemental Fae, and I'm sure I don't have to tell you that the Fae as a race are quite passionate.

Growing up with Dark Elves and Elemental Elves as I did, I didn't fully understand what was happening when I first experienced the Curse of a Fae's Eyes. All I knew was that the handsome Elemental Elf I had been flirting with for a while suddenly was willing to do anything to please me. Thank the Mothers and Fathers that all Elemental Elves are born sterile, because he pleased me over and over again until the Curse of a Fae's Eyes passed, and we continued to find sexual pleasure together after the Curse had ended.

The physical pleasures of our lovemaking where unforgettable, and even now I look back on those moments fondly. How can I not, when I had a lover whose sole concern was that I was that I had an orgasm and that I was satisfied. Yes, friends, the Curse of a Fae's Eyes is a wonderful thing...well, at least for the Fae ;-)

Ah, but then I learned that there are other pleasures to be had -- pleasures that only those following the path of the Ethereal Masters can ever experience.

To be continued...

My sister has returned!

Yes, my sister Disciple Anemo Eolic has returned to us! I'm so glad to have her back...getting into mischief is just not as much fun without her winds to fan the flames!

Also, for those of you who are wondering about becoming a Sage, Father Quont has done a wonderful job describing what a Sage is and how to become one. Quont also has a new feature called Lust Talk with Quont where He answers questions for the lustful of Mernac. Don't be shy, Quont won't disclose your identity so ask whatever questions you may have.

Lost, Mernac Style

If you haven't heard, I actually won something! Yay, go me!

Sorry, excuse the little outburst ;-)

If you don't know what I'm referring to, The Other had a little puzzle to having to do with the account number on Siberlee's credit card. I didn't actually get the message right :-( but the Other was gracious enough to reward me with the prize because I was so close. THANK YOU THE OTHER!!! Ohh, sorry, probably shouldn't have yelled while you're still recovering from that nasty bump to the head.

I had so much fun coming up with the little bio about the characters that I've decided to try and complete the cast here on my blog.

So far I have:

The One - undetermined
The Other - Jacob

Siberlee - Claire
Sola - undetermined
Dulan - Sun
Kala - undetermined
Terees - Rose
Canola - undetermined
Witress - undetermined

Barak - Ben

Linthur - Kate
Bu - undetermined
Elsen - undetermined
Tellen - Sayid
Tul - undetermined
Abuba - undetermined
Gorb - undetermined
Trajen - undetermined
Quont - Julia
Picu - Hurley
Roadius - Sawyer

It's a work in progress, so feel free to share your thoughts on which Lost character best respresents which of the Gods of Mernac.

Poor Incubus Frost

I feel for him, really. It can't be easy to have lived the life that he lived prior to becoming Father Quont's Disciple. Luckily Frost had a 'theraputic breathrough' so with any luck, we will be seeing and learning more about Incubus Frost.

If he needs any incentive...well, he already knows that I'd be more than happy to give him a good cropping ;-)

Sadly, my duties in Mernac went mostly undone this past week for reasons that I'll not post here. Thankfully Father Elsen understands and I believe I shall go unpunished. Don't worry, I'll make up for it and do twice as much work...someday ;-)

The Flames of Passion

You may think that as a Disciple who exists as an Ethereal element, sex would be of no interest to me. Boy would you be wrong! I am a Fae, after all, and we are a passionate race (surely you've heard of the Curse of a Fae's Eyes!).

I had lovers before I became I became an Ethereal Master, and I have had lovers since becoming a Disciple. While not your typical sexual encounter, I think that what I have experienced post-Discipleship is better.

Oh, but I'm probably boring you to tears...

News from Mernac

My brother Goran, Ethereal Earth Disciple, is working on creating something he calls 'adventure hooks' for the RPG part of Mernac. He is even offering silver to those who assist in his endeavor, so if this sort of thing interests you I'd suggest you pay him a visit.

I must return to the Ethereal Fire Plane now; I've been rather depressed this week and I don't want to inflict any more fires on Mernac than I already have.

More about me!

Yes, it's time to discuss my favorite subject -- me!

I'm a very moody Disciple, which is generally not good news for the people's of Mernac since I control Ethereal Fire.

You can read all about me here. I have to go now and see who I can torture...or maybe I'll just bake some more cookies...yes, baking cookies sounds much better.

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

My dear sister the Ethereal Wind Disciple has been causing quite a stir around Mernac. I mean that quite literally, mind you. Seems she has plans to riddle Mernac with a small squal and wants me to singe the borders of Mernac. Hmm, that does sound better than just lazing around here in the Ethereal Fire Plane.

Ah, but I have much to do and many missing connections to find so that the Scrolls will be up to Father Elsen's expectations.

In other pressing news, I was going to ask Frost, the new Disciple of Quont, to help me with my melting Peanut Butter Cups problem (I mean, who better to keep things cool then a guy named Frost?) but since he is an Incubus I'm pretty sure he's more about raising temperatures than lowering them, regardless of his name. Oh well, maybe I can find a Geludias Ethereal Master to help me out.

New Disciples, yay!

Anemo Eolic has joined us as one of Elsen's Disciples. She is the Disciple of Ethereal Wind, and together she and I will help ensure that the Scrolls of Mernac meet Elsen's expectation of perfection as she searches for typos and 'spellin' errors. Of course the peoples of Mernac might be a bit nervous...Wind does tend to make Fire even more eratic and uncontrollable than it already is.

Quont also has a new Disciple -- Frost, who joins the Legion of Lust as an Incubus. I hear that he is quite handsome...unfortunately I have no solid form with which to enjoy the view, as it were. *sighs* I'm sure we'll cross paths in Mernac as he is a Critiquing Devotee and will be reading the scrolls being prepared. Yes, sometimes I have been known to take a little peek in there, but those Scribes get so nervous around fire, like I'm going to burn up their precious parchment, so I tend to leave them alone. Perhaps they should worry about Anemo, she may cause all of their parchment to blow away!

OOC - Progress Report 05/07/2007

Father Elsen was able to fix it so I can edit the stories that I was previously unable to edit to add links. All of the BFT stories now have all of the links added.

Added missing connections to the following stories:
Arumbus Talimar
Mootil
Ooloo
Tian Islands
Brangin

Perhaps...

...I should have some fun with the Scribes of Mernac. Hmm, I wonder what they would do if I caused their parchment to spontaneously combust?

I kid, I kid! I would never do that, they amuse me and Elsen them amusing as well. Maybe I'll work on a new bottle design for when Elsen needs a scribe bottled. Or I could find Arleas and see what she and her Shadow Guard are up to. True, Arleas serves Terees and the side of "good" but that doesn't mean that we can't be friends. I just remember to remain apathetic towards the whole "good and evil" thing. Ok, so maybe a few times I did technically help her...she's a shadow and I created a tiny little flame so there would be light -- I only did it because she's my friend and I don't know what would happen to her if there was no light for the shadows to exist! It's not like I'm going to start a forest fire or anything. That's more the style of...well, you'll find that out all in due time who that is.

I believe I'll go find someone to withold the element of fire from...that's always amusing; cruel and sadistic perhaps, but amusing nonetheless. Now don't worry, I won't let him or her die ;-)

Out and About in Mernac

The Scribe's have been busy now that Siberlee's plan has been revealed. The artists are also gearing up as Siberlee has a plan for luring them to the side of good as well.

I have decided that I shall periodically grace you, my readers, with a story suggestion if you are confused about where to begin (and who wouldn't be, with 206 pages of stories...and growing!) My current choice is the stories of The Croth Rebellion. Or if you want to start with something simple, may I suggest The Path of Vistaduro -- one of my favorites, for obvious reasons!

And now, an OOC and completely non-Mernac related poem:

Ode to a Cottonwood Tree

Cottonwood tree, how I hate thee!
You make me cough, you make me sneeze!
My yard is covered with your white fuzzies each day
And you're in a park three blocks away!

Join Father Quont's Legion of Lust

If you love Mernac and would like to assist Father Quont (and who wouldn't want to be a sexy Succubus or Incubus?) then check out His blog and find out how you can join His Legion of Lust. Don't let the whole thing with Quont and His whip scare you -- being a Disciple for any of the Gods and Goddesses requires work, but Father Elsen is certainly no slave-driver and from what I've seen neither is Quont.

What are you waiting for? Join us!

So Siberlee wants to do something "good"

It is becoming clearer now why the Fathers are so concerned about Siberlee's plans. I guess she thinks that things will go in favor of the Mothers if this idea of "good" catches on.

I have been wandering the Scrolls making connections and still it amazes me how everything is interlinked on Mernac. Explain that, you ask? Ah, the best way for you to understand is to read the stories and pay attention to the connections shown on the Scrolls. For example, the Scroll "Mootil" contains connections to two other stories which explain things mentioned in this Scroll. If you click on one of those connections, it will take you to the other story and that story will have connections. That is why I must work diligently at making these connections -- for good or evil, it must be revealed how everything on Mernac is connected to everything else.

It must go now and continue my duties, for Father Elsen may yet need my assistance as Siberlee's plan moves forward.

OOC - Progress through 04/29/2007

The abbreviated version of what I did during the last week:

All of the Battle for Traddlebow stories published thus far have been reviewed and missing connections have been added.

I have started printing out the oldest stories and am going through them to start adding the missing connections.

If all you are interested in is the bare-bones of what I did within the world of Mernac, then stop reading. If you want to know more and have a little peek inside my world to get to know me, read on for the extended version.

*****

Found some older stories from Mernac that I had printed out awhile ago, so I decided to start there with reading for missing connections. Then went to the oldest of the legends beginning with Mootil and printed out a bunch of stories to read for missing connections.

Printer ran out of paper -- but continued to try printing. You would think that the printer would just stop instead of trying to keep printing like the paper was going to magically appear. It made such a racket I think my neighbors could hear it. And so one of the things that I learned this week is that my printer is stupid.

I also learned that peanut butter cups have a very low melting point. Who knew that leaving them in the car for 30 minutes during 80 degree weather would result in a rather disgusting mess? Not me, obviously.

Irritated that my peanut butter cups melted, I decided to start adding the missing connections and get on with things.

Got the missing connections added to Mootil, then lost the fight for the keyboard to my cat who insisted on walking on the keyboard. *sighs*

The Time Quickly Approaches

On Sunday, April 29, 2007, there will be an announcement made concerning Mernac. This news will be of great concern to all, I am sure, for Father Elsen's wind was used to carry the message.

I must go now, time flies quickly and I feel that there is much yet to be done!

Something is afoot in Mernac...

I can feel that there is change in the air. Fire is sensitive to the slightest breeze, and so it is that I can sense the slightest changes in Mernac. The Mother Siberlee is planning something, and Father Elsen is working with Father Barak to prepare the Fathers' Army.

Goran Tulkin, Father Elsen's other Disciple, seems to have dreamed about the changes coming to Mernac. Being an Earth Disciple makes his thoughts more coherent than mine could ever hope to be, so you should read his thoughts if you want to know more. All I know is that Mother Siberlee is worried by myself and Goran, and by Father Quont's recruitment of Disciples so She is planning to recruit some Disciples of Her own.

I must go now and work on connecting the scrolls of Mernac, for I feel that those connections will prove important in whatever changes are coming. Since Father Elsen will be kept away from His domain while He helps Father Barak, perhaps He will let me stay there for a few days...I hear it's a great place to relax.

So I took a day off

Yes, that's right, yesterday I decided not to go through scrolls looking for missing connections. Hey, even Disciples need a little time off and I wouldn't want to burn myself out. Haha, get it! Father Elsen gave me control over fire, don't want to 'burn myself out'? Never mind.

Anyway, I'll return to going through those scrolls tonight and finding all of those missing connections. I'm sure Father Elsen will forgive me for taking a little time to just wander Mernac.

More about me...

Perhaps I should tell you a bit more about myself. As a Disciple of the Father Elsen, I am the element of Fire. If you have read his story, then you already know that I exist purely as my element. How is it that I can post in this blog? Ahh, that is something not for mortals to know.

Many are asking the question, am I good or am I evil? The answer to that is not a simple one. I may be either, or neither, or both, for just like the Father I serve I am apathetic to both sides. My purpose is not to help the side of Light or the side of Dark, but simply to serve Elsen. Do not mistake apathy for neutrality, for if it will not hinder Elsen's plan I am prone to doing what serves the Fathers, especially Quont, Father of Lust. I serve Elsen first, but the fire of passion that burns in the bellies of the lustful is not all that different than the flames that are now my existence, after all.

A new hobby

I suppose I should tell you that in addition to wandering Mernac looking for missed connections, I have discovered a new joy -- creating bottles and stuffing critters, people, and anything else that I can inside of them. I am sure that Father Elsen will be most pleased when He learns of this new talent of mine, for if someone is annoying Him I can just stick the person inside a bottle!

Now I must finish creating a special bottle to hold Arleas, who is a Disciple of the Mother Terees. Don't worry, I'm not going to keep her trapped in the bottle forever and ever...although one of Mother Terees' Shadow Guard in a bottle would probably fetch a high price on the black market...hmm...

Welcome to my blog

Hello there happy people! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Vickie and I am a Disciple of the Father Elsen in the wonderful world of Mernac.

So what do I do? Well, I wander about Mernac looking for stories that are missing connections. You see, connections are what help the stories be understood...for instance, if you are reading a story and see a reference to Koomba Treats but you don't know what Koomba Treats are, you can just look at the list of Connections to the left side of the story and click on Koomba Treats. And voila! you now know what Koomba Treats are.

There's not much else that I can tell you right now, so I'd best be getting back to wandering Mernac finding all those missing connections!
